New details about the upcoming Tomb Raider movie; in November, during the Hack the Ice Event in Hong Kong Meagan Marie had confirmed the relization of the third Tomb Rader movie, shortly after the announcement of the name of the director, norwegian Roar Uthaug (Cold Prey and The Wave) and the screenwriter, Geneva Robertson-Dworet (Transformers 5).
In these days, speaking with IGN, Roar Uthaug has reveal some details about the story (confirmed the reboot will be an origin story, similar to the 2013 video game), the character of Lara croft, his hopes and approach, he says: "I think we'll want to make people relate to Lara as a character. I'm hoping to bring some of my Norwegian sensibilities to the franchise."
Uthaug said he's been playing Tomb Raider since the first game came out in 1996, which is partly why he was excited to sign on to the project. "I've always been a fan of strong female characters, these are in all my previous movies, so that's something I thought was interesting." After directing a Hollywood-inspired film like The Wave, Uthaug explained he was interested in tackling an even bigger action-adventure film. "Raiders of the Lost Ark was one of my favorite films growing up, so it's definitely a dream to work in that kind of genre," he remarked. "I think we'll want to make it feel like a modern action movie and to make what's going on feel like it's going on for real."
