One year after the release of Ancient Artifact II Max comes back with the presentation of his new project: "Tomb Raider : Above the Horizon"!
The project, to which Max is working since almost one year, is created on the TR4 engine, using NGLE editor and Meta2tr program; the game represents an alternate version of the XX century with a mix of neo-noir mood. In the following video you can see part of the Prologue gameplay, which is a sort of tutorial level where we can learn the new animations and movements of Lara (like climbing vertical and horizontal poles, passing through gaps in the wall or jumping over low obstacles), lot of more interactions with the environment and an optional system of icons and hints, a sort of "instinct mode" that, like other elements introduced in the game, reminds Rise of the Tomb Raider.
Video gameplay: the game tells the story of a fallen city of Metropolis, where Lara Croft will be forced to face a mysterious and dangerous organization called Nova. Derelict streets will contain unusual places and surprising secrets. In this hostile world everyone has to struggle for survival. Lara Croft has been captured but manages to escape alive, when the attack of rebels gives her a unique chance to get out of her imprisonement:
The story: the game takes place in the old town of Metropolis, during the siege by Nova - an organization founded many years ago in absolute secrecy. Their sole purpose was to proclaim a new faith. They believed in technology and the existence of a higher intelligence which gave birth to our world and the human civilisation. Scientists from the organization finally found something that gave Nova deep conviction about the righteoustness of their theories and goals. The newly discovered element - Lumonium, was supposed to ensure innovation and evolution for the city.
Unfortunately, no one expected that the truth behind their fasade is different and that the members of the organisation have their own goals. When Nova reached the maximum of their potential, and gathered enough firearms and equipment, they have started a revolution, that has in effect led to overthrowing of the city's authorities and managed to subordinate all of it's residents. Metropolis was turned into a fortess, surrounded by a huge wall. No one could gain access or leave the city. Nova's fanaticism was revealed in full potential shortly after they achieved their main goals. They believed that the new element was not discovered by an accident but instead it was a gift from their god - The Bright Emissary. Soon Nova began to kidnap a chosen group of residents who have never been seen again.
After the Prologue, which is also a tutorial level, Max will begin to work on the next full levels that will be greater and more open: Lara will visit in the game such places as old sewers, backstreets of the Metropolis city and factory with abandoned shipyard; during the game you will be able to return to the previously discovered locations and previously levels, to complete some quests (some optional) or to find places which earlier were inaccessible. In the game Lara will run into many various people and characters, and you will find coins which you can exchange to buy new items in a shop.
Below you can find the Lara Croft model close up; Pai is the voice of Lara (her voice is incredibly similar to Camilla Luddington), Greekey2 is Tori and Jarekhanzelka is Leader from Nova Organization.
In conclusion, we are excited about this new project by Max that once again surprises us with his skill and creativity, his way of building is very special, always attentive to every detail and especially to ingame atmosphere. This new adventure has a lot of Rise and knowing that these elements are made with an unofficial editor and tools makes the result even more impressive.
