Il sito di Skribblerz chiude

Apro questo topic (in realtà non sono sicura della sezione, semmai i moderatori provvederanno al suo spostamento; anzi, se cortesemente potessero segnarlo come "Importante" non sarebbe male) per avvisarvi che, come da titolo, il sito di Skribblerz chiuderà il 22 agosto. Non si sa per quale motivo, comunque è così. Mi spiace molto.
Se volete salvarvi qualcosa (o addirittura il sito intero) fatelo il prima possibile. Ad ogni modo Titak ha detto che lei e AkyV provvederanno a salvare i tutorial e i tools e li caricheranno da qualche altra parte.

Hmmm... Mi sa ci sia un altro dissapore tra MichaelP e Gmac dietro, a giudicare da quanto c'è scritto sulla pagina del forum di Skribblerz (http://www.skribblerz.com/forums/):

"There is absolutely no point in encouraging new level builders to take up the Level Editor and spending years of your life teaching them how to master the art of level design when all the reviewers do is tear them down, destroy them and chase them away.

Se tanto mi da tanto, mi sa che non si risolverà. C'era già stata una lite tra loro tempi addietro (e per questo George non voleva che i suoi livelli fossero hostati su trle.net - a proposito, ora funziona -), ma sembrava che le cose si fossero risolte recentemente. Ed ora invece... mah, ho la sensazione che loro siano come cane e gatto.
Comunque meglio salvarsi tutto!

Devo ammettere , questo sta accadendo a causa di una recensione basso sono salito su trle.net per Mars Orbiter . George ha avuto questo problema prima con loro , e ho provato a calmarlo . Ho già fatto la pace con trle.net per l'incidente , ma lui non lasciarlo andare . Odia il modo MichaelP difende utenti. Pensa che i costruttori dovrebbero essere trattati meglio , e non piace il sistema di rating lì .

Avevo intuito che fosse questa la ragione... Ad ogni modo non mi pare un buon motivo per chiudere il suo sito. Fermo restando che ognuno fa quello che vuole col proprio sito, ma è proprio grazie a Skribblerz che gli LD hanno imparato (anche io), e non c'è una vera e propria connessione tra il suo sito e trle.net. Quindi ripeto, anche se GMac ha spiegato le sue motivazioni, continuo a non capire il nesso tra "Su trle.net ci sono i recensori severi e Michael li difende" e "Allora io chiudo il mio sito". Tra l'altro non mi risulta che ci siano LD che hanno abbandonato l'editing per colpa dei recensori (e, se ci sono, sono comunque pochi); d'altra parte mi sembra che la community di LD sia sempre molto affollata, o sbaglio?
E' un vero peccato. Comunque grazie a GMac per tutto il lavoro svolto in tutti questi anni (e per aver difeso gli LD), è stato utile e non andrà perso.

I sensed that this was the reason... Anyway I don't think it's a good one to close his site. Ok, he can do everything he wants with his website, but thanks to Skribblerz LDs learned how to build levels (me too), and I can't see a real connection between his website and trle.net. So I repeat myself, even if GMac has explained his reasons, I still don't understand the link between "On trle.net there are strict reviewers and Michael defends them" and "So I close my website". Moreover I'm not aware of LDs that left the levelbuilding because of the reviewers (and if I'm wrong, they are few anyway); on the other hand it seems to me that the LD community is always very crowded, or am I wrong?
It's a real pity. Anyway thanks to GMac for the work he has done in all of those years (and for defending the LDs too), it was really useful and won't be lost.

This board is now offline permanently and the main Skribblerz website will be removed on Saturday 22nd August. All tools, resources, and the NGLE Manual will be removed at that time, so you have 2 weeks to download what you need. The entire manual and all the illustrations have been zipped up directly from my html files. They will open in any browser and can be read with all the illustrations in place. Here is the link to the download. Anyone is free to host the manual or convert it to other formats so long as they credit the authors of each tutorial.

E' davvero triste che se ne vada così un sito storico su TR.

Qualcuno sta già scaricando il sito completo, se non tiene tanto (al massimo 4,7 GB) lo faccio anche io e lo porto su un DVD.
