Btw, do you have another project planned now?
No.
I can't build with TRLE. At least, as well as everyone wants.
And doesn't everyone want me to give it up, anyways?
They never cared.
You keep saying to us that we assume and that we should stop assuming.
Sounds like you are doing it yourself as well. :P

If they never cared then why would they have given you another chance? :mumble:

Did make it across the pole?
No, not yet.

"So do I first have to get up to the pole Vivi is on in the screenshot? "
Did I at least do that part right? :mumble:

I could, but I'd rather try it myself first.
Could you explain what to do when Vivi is in the position shown in my screenshot? :)

That's the point. I can't remember and
I don't have any save from that part.
Can you jump to a higher pole by pressing the up arrow and then jump?
I think there was something like that and to get to one pole I had to do a backstep
and then the jump :mumble: :mumble:
Anyway, I can look how it goes :)

No, when you first enter this area, don't jump up to the very top pole, that very top pole is the pole used to make your way back. After pulling the lever.

You can still follow what I told you, or not. This makes it a suggestion, not an order.
Knowing its clear, I'll take it.
DJ Full ha scritto:

It was largely a result of what you did before. You cannot blame people for their reactions, that's precisely what I mean.
Hrm...
Okay, yeah, two-way street, I know.

And this is also what I meant, by saying "neutral". Just do your best and they will care.
I did try my best, here. But just take a look. Count how many people rushed to download it when it was released, versus, if any other level was released.

Never assumed this.
Yeah, only a tiny bit didn't, but the rest...
After all that, you know they had to be thinking it.

That is utter nonsense and way below the belt.
None of my fellow mods and the admins over at TRF voted for letting you back for that reason, for their ego.
They wanted you to have a second chance at it.

Oh, so Vivi is basically doomed if you do what I did. Because there's no way back down to the third pole once you have reached the fourth. :mumble:

Well, not really doomed ofcourse since you can always load a savegame, but still, these things shouldn't happen I think. There's either still a way back when getting stuck or the player should be prevented from even reaching that place where he can get stuck. Whether you make games with the TRLE or with Unity or whatever other engine.
Not always an easy task, I'll give you that. :mumble:

Anyway, going to try going from the third pole now. :D

Thank you Titia, really good to hear this. But, not speaking about mods - it happens people put you down because of their ego. You can assume it happened now, you can assume it didn't, but in fact we won't know. What I'm sure about is I have never seen any serious builder get discouraged from building, no matter of any reason.

Seeing that ROTTR outfit by Alexia gave me an idea. If I do return. I'd just do a single one or two levels. Something simple I can focus on only two levels, making it the best.

Sochen Cave Palace and Cistern Waterway from Mist Resurrection are literary the only two levels I really did put my best effort in. I didn't get to meta2tr the rooms after my USB drive crash. But it was still good.

I still have my scripts from MIst Resurrection. Titak/anyone else, if you're interested in a survival instincts feature, and just like Maati's vision mode. I can show you the script how to do it.

You're not going to believe this, it's too stupid for words...
My "teenager" external HD broke down last week, even though it was just 5 months old.
So I bought a new one, "toddler" HD, and started copying stuff I still had on my "middle-aged" HD which is a couple of years old and which I hadn't reformatted yet. Thank goodness.

Guess what happened? The entier "Games Stuff" folder on the "middle-aged" HD was dead yesterday. 0 bytes, no subfolders, no files whatsoever. I had already copied part fo that folder to "toddler" but not the ones with my textures library and levels. (both my own and downloaded custom levels).
Long story short, I've lost this game again!

Well, I was still only in the second level (thank goodness for gettign stuck! :huahua: ) and since I have played through the first level twice now I can get back to the second level pretty quickly. :D

Just... beyond words.
When you think you have enough backups, they all start failing. :O_o:
But I did get back most of the custom levels, all of my own levels and the texture library and some other stuff I hadn't copied yet, because they were still on an even older "senior" HD I rediscovered sitting in some cabinet upstairs. [:^]

Seeing that ROTTR outfit by Alexia gave me an idea. If I do return. I'd just do a single one or two levels. Something simple I can focus on only two levels, making it the best.
That sounds like a good plan.
Having only a couple of levels to worry about will better keep your focus on them I think.
My MoA games are longer, but it's not untill the end that I start working on all of the levels together. I always start with one level, focus on that for quite some time before moving on to the next.
Some more of the levels are finished before I go back and synchronise stuff in all levels, making leveljumps work properly, etc.
I still have my scripts from MIst Resurrection. Titak/anyone else, if you're interested in a survival instincts feature, and just like Maati's vision mode. I can show you the script how to do it.
I doubt I'll use it in MoA (I have another hint system) but I wouldn't mind seeing how it works.

HD failures are the worse. Having went through it myself. I'm glad MoA wasn't involved. that would've been horrible.

With all the levels in Mist Resurrection, it was just way to many levels i kept throwing in the boat. "Let me do this", "let me add this", "let me try this". Each time, adding a new level you see in game. Without focusing on each level individually making it the best.

When you do return to the second level in Mist Resurrection, entering that pole area, don't jump up to the very top pole. The very top pole is only for making your way back.

You come into this area:
"Grab the first pole, (wait for the fire to extinguish). Jump up to the second pole, then swing across to the other side with the lever switch. Then turn around, grab the pole. Jump up to the second pole, then jump up to the third pole (the very top one) and swing across."

Okay, I'll post the script right here, and also send you a PM with it.
Return to TRF, I can post it in one of the tutorial sections.

Hopefully others will find much use with it.
And its a really simply variable usage. It doesn't use them so heavily, so you won't have to worry about any "reached maximum progressive action errors".

; ------ END of Survival Instincts -----------
For activating Survival instincts I use an organizer for the executing and the LOOK button. It activates when the player holds down the look button for period of time.

When the LOOK button is held down:
It enables Organizer with ID 66.

Organizer ID 66 is what activates Survival Instincts.
It first enables some extra effects: (TriggerGroup ID: 232)
Ex. The sprite on the screen, flashing the screen yellow color, play an audio, etc.

Then it activates Triggergroup ID 231, which begins the flashing of objects the player can observe. (With an "Continue" F118)

TriggerGroup ID: 231 activates TriggerGroup ID: 230 which lists all the objects ID's that are going to flash.
Replace "X" with your objects ID from the room editor.

The ColorRGB command defines which color the objects flash. (In this case, it's yellow)

And, the player will have to keep the LOOK button held down until Survival Instincts is deactivated, or else, the objects will keep flashing forever.

The stopping of Survival Instincts happens in Organizer ID: 66. Which is kept activated while holding down the LOOK key. If you release the LOOK key, it stops Organizer ID 66. Until you press and hold it again.

There's also a PARAM_SHOW_SPRITE command. I used sprite number 32 from the DEFAULT_SPRITES in the wad. To display that similar TR2013 effect on screen.

Okay, I think I explained every aspect of the setup. If you got questions, ask me for the time being.

Sending as PM to Titak, which you can share it, if others desire it. You have my permission.

Will maati be okay with it being posted somewhere else?
Because it was partially their work too, right?
Just making sure it is okay, to avoid issues. :D
If it is okay I can turn it into a tutorial for TRF. Credits will be given to maati and you.

Either way, thanks for sharing. :approved:
The whole setup isn't even as long as I suspected.

As for my HD, if anyone ever runs into something like this, try Recuva!
It's a free program and it specializes in miracles: it has recovered more than 400 thousand files of the more than 600 thousand found! It ignored about 180 thousand. No idea why, but the most important files (Meta2TR work on one of the MoA2 levels) are back adn working, and that's what counts. :D
I'm also going to try it on the broken HD, see if it can do something with that as well, since the program description says it can. :D
So, people, Recuva it is!!!

*** EDIT ***
Well, that wasn't so hard...
No idea why I couldn't make it to the other side before, but I've made it now. [:^]
On my way again.

This setup is not Maati's setup, this is what I created myself. Maati wasn't going to share any scripts - as said when I asked him a while back.

Go right ahead, I won't be back for a while, Titak. Post it in the tutorials section.
But still give credit to Maati as well for having (at least, I think) the first person coming up with an idea on a project.

Program: Recurva, huh? Sounds like a good program! Why didn't I find this when my HD failed!?
Never the matter, it's on my "to go" list if such happens again!

You made it across the poles!? I'm giving you a :approved: regardless!
