RECIPE
Colorful Rice Crispy Easter Eggs
by Blu
These light, colorful Rice Easter eggs are perfect as sweets and delicious as decorations for a spring / Easter party, and very easy and fun to make also with the kids!
INGREDIENTS
- 125gr rice krispies cereal
- 50gr butter (I use half vegetable butter)
- about 200gr Marshmallows (white or already colored)
- food coloring
METHOD
Divide the marshmallows into as many bowls as the colors you want to use for the eggs, then follow the instructions for each bowl / color:
Directions for a single batch:
Add a dollop of butter to the marshmellows and melt everything in a double boiler or microwave. Add the food coloring and mix until you get a smooth cream that will act as glue for the puffed rice. Add the puffed rice and mix until everything is combined. At this point, form eggs with your hands, or using buttered plastic eggs, and let them dry. You can store them in an airtight container and consume them within 3-4 days.
